Inna Akopian

MuMaMa Chef & Culinary Teacher

Inna Akopian — a home-style cook and culinary tutor who brings her family tradition into her professional practice. She began cooking seriously long before it became a source of income, learning from a grandmother whose pies defined every family gathering. Years later, after moving to Rome, her hobby quietly turned into a profession: she started baking to order, expanded into savoury dishes, and built a reputation among local communities.

Her cooking style is grounded in simple, honest, domestic food rather than restaurant technique. She works with natural ingredients, adapts dishes from different culinary cultures, and focuses on clarity of flavour and — most importantly — emotional comfort.

For her, food is a social binder: something that brings people to the table, helps them talk, relax, and feel taken care of. That same principle guides her as a culinary tutor. Her master classes — whether one-on-one, with small groups of friends, or with children — are informal and hands-on. The goal isn’t precision or showmanship but learning through shared work, gaining confidence, and discovering that cooking can be a calm, enjoyable activity.

Today, most of her work balances between made-to-order cooking and teaching. She listens closely to what people want, adapts menus to their needs, and introduces new dishes when she feels they will be understood and appreciated. In her classes, she brings patience, clarity, and an easy sense of humour, making them feel more like time spent with a knowledgeable friend than a formal lesson.
